When we started the Myriad Gospel Music Countdown back in 1996 my role was simply that of being the executive producer. In addition to inspirational messages, I would do some Socioeconomic messages as well. My first thought was to call my piece “blackonomics,” I thought I made the word up but later found out that there have been several authors who had already written books and scholarly articles on “blackonomics”. So, I needed to come up with another name. When one looks at your financial condition when your assets outnumber your liabilities and when your income is larger than your expenses then, you are considered to be operating “In The Black” NTHBLK.
